olympic fever

We have all had a great time watching the Olympics this year. My kids have been totally into it and it's cute to see them get excited and cheer for their favorite athletes. The other day while we were watching they decided to perform some athletic feats of their own in our living room. I though I'd take some pictures because they were making me laugh so hard. Tyler was out of town and we'd just had a pizza picnic on the floor (hence the big blanket)...ya I don't cook when he is traveling, what can I say?!

Jax - I believe he's suppose to be ski jumping
oh, and now skiing with "poles"

Maggie ice skating(by far her favorite event). Is anyone really shocked?
They have sequins on their outfits after all! :)

some jumping from Lia
and some skating
still in her jammies after staying home sick from school

it's just such fun stuff to watch, it makes me sad when it's all over
Go USA!

V-Day

Here are a few pics from Valentines Day this year. Nothing to eventful - just the usual stuff. Tyler and I went on a date, the kids took Valentine's to school and each of them had a party in their class. I helped with Jaxon's party - 25 kindergarteners all hyped up about Valentine's Day....good times.

Some of Lia's Valentines -
to "carzy" Jaxon - the little spelling issue there just makes it cuter :)

She made Tyler and I a Valentine laptop - quite creative I thought
and a princess card for Maggie
each of the big kids with the Valentines I helped the kids make in Art Club after school
jax wasn't interested in having his face in the picture
some crafting
enjoying their treats from friends at school
this is what I get when i try to get a picture of all three of them together
Maggie sneaking treat from the kids goodie bags
fruit by the foot tongue
more treats

Sunday morning I did decorate the table, made pancakes and dipped strawberries, and give the kids a few little gifts
princess and the frog shirt for Maggie
reversible hoodie for Jax

I don't have any pictures of Lia with her gifts - she was feeling sick Valentines morning :(

yummy breakfast!

a new adventure

I recently started a new adventure teaching after school art classes twice a week at my kids elementary school. It has been time consuming and kind of hectic trying to work one more thing into our schedule. But all in all it is a fun experience. I love teaching and I love getting to know the kids better.
Here is the flier I sent out - I was hoping to have about 10 kids per class...ended up with over 20 in each. It makes for a crazy hour and a half, but I was so thrilled that so many kids were interested. Right now I'm teaching K-1st, which is fun because Lia and Jax come to the class. I can't wait to get into some projects with the older kids too when their class rolls around (you know a bit longer attention span). :)

the floor has looked a little like this.. ..and this
good times

reading with Maggie

I took a few pictures of Maggie and I reading books before bedtime the other night.

She chose a few Sandra Boynton books this particular evening. Her book "Blue Hat, Green Hat" has been a favorite of all of my kids around age 2.

Maggie loves to "read" it to me!

I love that after reading it eight million times she still laughs at the Turkey with his hat on his feet.

special delivery

Jax crafted himself a mail carrier hat out of a cardboard box the other day -
I thought it was rather inventive, so I snapped a few photos! :)

Lakeview Fun Walk/Run

Our Lakeview Fun Run/Walk was held last Saturday at the the Neenah High Field House. It is our biggest PTO fundraiser of the year - and this year was a great success. We were thrilled with the turnout and the amount of money we managed to raise for the school. Students and their families participate in the walk/run, eat lunch (we tried to keep it healthy...cousins sandwiches, fruit, granola bars...etc.), play games in the center of the track (hula hooping/jump roping contests). Then at the end there is a huge basket raffle. This year we had about 55 baskets that the PTO put together ranging in value from $40 - $350.
Th most popular basket was a day out with the Principal...including limo ride & lunch @Culver's.
Our kid really look forward to this event - they had a great time with their friends! :)

Here is the crew lining up for the run to start
and they're off
Lia and her friend Cami tied for 1st place in the 1st grade jump roping contest.

Even the teachers did a little jumping....here is Lia's teacher Miss Q in action.

This is the only picture of Jax I managed to get...he was running around with his friends the entire time. I think in this picture he had just thrown a Frisbee to someone! :)
